Acoustic Cafe @ Garnethill Multicultural Centre - Nov 5th

The Glasgow Social Centre proudly present...

The Acoustic Cafe on November 5th.

6.30 - 11pm Garnethill Multicultural Centre (click for map).

This will be a brilliant night of amazing food and even better music from a host of performers including Rise Kagona, Honey and the Herbs, some stand up comedy and a host of solo performers. The music is not actually acoustic, we just like the name!

There will be lovely food cooked by the People's Kitchen to munch whilst watching all the fantastic performances.

Tickets are £3 in advance/£4 on the door and include all the music and food you could want! If you would like tickets please contact Sam (07983992243) or Johnny (07737030560) or email glasgowsocialcentre@riseup.net.

Check out the poster for more details.

Recycled craft workshop

This Thursday (21st) we will be back in the Lansdowne Church on Great Western Road from 6-9pm for more recycled craft. Last week we made recycled wallets, alien tenticles, salt dough craft and beaded bracelets.

Come along and please bring any materials which may be useful for making things.

People's Kitchen photos

Lots of hungry people at St. George's Cross and on Great Western Road were fed some lovely free food on Saturday. We made curry, soup and salad with skipped vegetables from the market.

The People's Kitchen will return on Saturday 13th November, hitting the streets at the earlier time of noon. See you then.

(Architectural) plans are afoot

Here's another sneak preview of 30 St. George's Road. For those of you who don't know this is the space we want to move into.

This week we were in so our resident architect Fi (pictured) could do drawings of the ground floor and basement to show the council where the new staircase will be. Just one of the hoops that we have to jump through!

So after we have these plans in and they are ok'd then we will be getting very close to having a social centre again. We hope that you're all as excited as we are.
